Grade Reports

The school year is divided into 2 semesters and each semester is divided into 2 quarters. Grade reports are mailed home at the end of each quarter.

Reports of Quarterly Academic Progress are issued for all students once during a semester. While these grades do not appear on the official transcript, they are an important measure of how the student is adjusting to classes and managing the workload. This report also reflects students’ conduct, effort, attitude and academic performance to date.

Reports of Mid-semester Grades are issued at the mid-point of each semester to students in all courses regardless of whether the course is a semester course or full-year course. These grades represent student performance and achievement to the mid-point of the semester and include: tests, quizzes, papers, projects, homework, classroom participation, conduct, effort, preparation, and the mid-semester exam.

Reports of Semester (final) Grades are issued at the end of each semester (January and June) to all students and reflect students’ academic performance from the mid-point of the semester to the end of the semester including the final exam. The grade earned for the last half of a semester is averaged with the midterm grade to yield a final grade for the semester.

Final Grades are issued at the end of a semester for all semester-long courses. For full-year courses, the grades issued at the end of each semester are averaged to yield a final course grade for the year.

Academic Alert Reports are sent to parents by teachers when they have a concern about students’ academic performance, conduct, effort or attendance.

Advisor Reports are sent regularly to parents to provide an update of students’ general performance.

Disciplinary Report and Report of Absence are issued weekly from the Guidance Office to inform parents of students’ absences from classes and any infractions that students have incurred.

(Parents requiring duplicate reports to be sent to more than one address, may request that in writing from the office)
