Warm Greetings for the 2010-2011season from the Parent Council at Newman! A new Parent Council was formed two years ago with the following mission: The Parent Council exists to support and build the school community by creating opportunities for parents to get to know one another and encouraging parent involvement in school events. This past year we were pleased to organize events and activities that enhanced the quality of life at Newman for faculty, staff, parents and students and have planned many exciting events for 10-11. We found that the best part was that we all had a great time meeting new parents and working together! To help with the costs of supplies, refreshments, teacher’s breakfast & luncheon and the sports banquet, we ask for a contribution of $25 per family. This can be sent in to the office addressed to the Parent Council or paid at the Back to School Night. The Back to School Night will be the time that you can experience a typical day at Newman, learn about events sponsored by the Parent Council, sign-up to volunteer, learn about Newman’s Sports program and best of all meet other parents! Please plan to attend. Consider the events listed and volunteer with this in mind – the parents at Newman are really fun!!
