Guidance

The process of applying to college can be both exciting and stressful. The preparation really begins in the first year of high school, but the college search and selection activities intensify in the junior year. When students return as seniors in the fall, they sense that they are beginning a new phase of their lives and are aware that the decisions they make will have an impact on their futures.

These web pages have been written to give students and parents a better understanding of the college application process and the many related issues surrounding it. The Guidance Department, teachers. parents and guardians should come together as a team to enable students to negotiate this process in a logical and orderly way. Doing so will enable our students to make the best possible decisions and encourage them to take advantage of the many opportunities available to them.

We hope that this web site will serve as a guide to answer most of your questions, but please feel free to contact the Guidance Department directly with any additional questions or concerns you may have.

Very Truly Yours,

Tamara A. Walsh
Dean of Students/Director of Guidance
